Today the floriculture industry is facing a threat on postharvest handling of cut flowers. Flowers, being highly perishable, deteriorate in quality before reaching the actual consumer. It is estimated that 50% losses are incurred due to mismanagement in the postharvest handling techniques (Bhattacharjee, 1999).
