Description |
Royal jelly, also called bee milk, is a secretion of hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands of worker honey bees. It is secreted by them normally between 5-15 days of age (Witherell, 1975; Hanes and Simuth, 1992) and is fed to queen bee throughout its life. However, the workers and drones larvae are given this nutritious food only when they are very young i.e. first three days after hatching.
