Description |
Indian economy is basically dependent upon agriculture. Though large strides have been made in the industrial sector of the nation's economy, particularly after independence, the fact remains that still, for a prepondering percentage of Indian Nation, agriculture is the mainstay. In turn, agriculture in India is still dependent upon cattle and livestock, though mechanised farming is also on the increase. Livestock is also an important factor in rural economy because milk, meat, wool and various dairy products have been an appreciable source of income to the rural community.
