Use of nutritionally well-balanced and efficient feeding is vital for economic poultry production and to ensure maximum output with minimum inputs is the primary aim of an economical enterprise and poultry industry is no exception. Cost of feeding is approximately 65 to 70 percent of the total cost of poultry production. The constant rise in the cost of poultry feed ingredients tapers the economic returns of the poultry farmers. The increased feed costs, sub-standard feeds or both lead to severe economic losses. The nutritionally well-balanced and efficient feeding is vital for economic poultry production. The production cost can be lowered through better feed efficiency.
