Description |
The increase in the world's population, coupled with limitation in supply of natural resources and widespread degeneration of the environment, presents a major challenge to agriculturalists. Chemical fertilizers are used to provide plant nutrients within a short period to get faster results (Dash and Gupta 2011).Newly improved varieties of crops need high proportions of chemical fertilizers. The emphasis on chemical fertilizers has led to the long term imbalance in soil pH and its fertility, which has caused irreparable damage to the ecosystem (Sharma and Johri 2003; Sayyed et al. 2010; Xuan Yu et al. 2012).
