Description |
Over the past few years, there has been tremendous interest in developing agrotechniques on cropping system basis than individual crops because of intensification of cropping on existing land and for judicious use of inputs for getting higher returns per unit area. There is an urgent need to shift to more remunerative cropping systems, which should include legumes and oilseeds. Maize + soybean- Gobhi sarson is one such rotation, which has these qualities and is being followed by most of the farmers in this state. The aspect of mineral nutrition in the present context of fertilizer constraints has got huge importance and therefore there is need to establish the integrated nutrient supply system in our cropping systems. Although some recommendations are available on weed and nutrient management for individual crops, but very limited work has been reported on weed and nutrient management on newly developed cropping systems.
