Description |
Ganoderma lucidum (M.A. Curtis: Fr.) P. Karst is a wood decaying basidiomycetous fungus belonging to family Polyporaceae, also known as "Ling-zhi" in China and "Reishi" or Mannentake in Japan means "Herb of Spiritual Potency" (Wagner et al. 2003). It grows wild on variety of non-resinous woody substrates i.e. decaying logs and tree stumps, in both temperate and tropical zones.
