Description India is a country with rich natural resources and varied agro-climatic conditions having different types of lands/soils which1ias enabled us to produce all kinds of fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, trees, food crops and other plant species with success as if they are growing under most optimum conditions. Species which are not indigenous to this country have adapted themselves so perfectly to our conditions that they are even performing better than in their country of origin. It is our misfortune that we have not been able to harness these resources in the best manner. There is dire necessity of exploiting the natural wealth, particularly, the soil and plants to have maximum output of the choicest/selected crops. This will help in checking the soil erosion, provide green cover, supplement the income of the growers, utilize the land and protect the environment from further degradation apart from saving the country from natural calamities like floods and droughts.
