Agricultural mechanization is the
process of using agricultural machinery to reduce input cost and to
increase farm output. The one of the
purpose of this study was to quantify the agricultural mechanization of
Bhopal region of India with the help
of degree of mechanization, level of
mechanization, power availability
and mechanization index. The study
was carried out in Bhopal and Sehore districts of Madhya Pradesh in
India. The primary data required to
quantifying agricultural mechanization were collected using developed
questionnaire. The average power
availability of Bhopal region was
found to be 2.07 kW/ha. The average mechanization index of a farmer
for Bhopal region was found to be
0.89 with 95 % confidence interval
and it was also observed that the
Bhopal district is more mechanized
in comparison to Sehore district.
The existing level of mechanization
due to tractor was found to be 1.21
kW/ha.Not Available
