Description Not Available
Irrigation scheduling especially through rotational distribution in canal commands having different design capacities, command areas and lengths becomes a complex process. Timeliness criteria for Ranbir command of Jammu indicates irrigation water supply (IWS) > irrigation water demand (IWD) (1049.54 ha-m) during nursery period of rice for (23 days) , during field preparation (7 days) IWS < IWD (1769.3 ha-m), during planting to panicle initiation for (70 days) IWS ≈ IWD (904.3 ha-m), during panicle initiation to flowering for (22 days) IWS < IWD (4568.8 ha-m) and during flowering to maturity stage for (40 days) IWS ≈IWD 629 ha-m. Effective rainfall plays vital role in meeting water requirement for 70 days from 1st July to 8th September during planting to panicle initiation period for rice within the study area i.e R.S.Pura t of Jammu
