Description During screening of the male parents for semen quality parameters like semen volume, appearance, sperm concentration, motility and metabolic activity (MTT dye reduction test) were studied. For studying the reproductive parameters of PD-3 and IWA the following parameters were studied.
-semen quality (semen volume, appearance, sperm concentration, motility) and metabolic activity (MTT dye reduction test, live and abnormal sperm, hypo-osmotic swelling test, aniline blue dye reduction test and sperm comet assay) and sperm membreane protein expression
-gene expression (TGF β, ER α and TLR4) by real time PCR (relative gene expression) in the utero-vaginal junction at 25, 35 and 45 weeks of age and between inseminated and non-inseminated females, serum hormone levels (17β estradiol and progesterone) at 15, 25, 35 and 45 weeks of age. The histology of the utero-vaginal junction at 25, 35 and 45 weeks of age and between inseminated and non-inseminated females were studied
- At different ages (15, 25, 35 and 45 weeks of age) TLR4 gene expression in the testes, relative testes weight and serum testosterone levels and testes histology were studied
