Investigations were made to examine the effect of boron and GAl at various concentrations to
control the fruit cracking in pomegranate and its intensity during different pickings in pomegranate var.
Jalore Seedless grown in arid ecosystem. Minimum cracking was obtained in case or application of boron
0.2% which in turn produced maximum yield (10.3 kg/tree in 2001 und 16.4 kg/tree in 2002). Intensity of
cracking was maximum in pickings done on lit December and is" December while it was minimum in
pickings done on l " Jan. and 15th Jan. Fruits harvested Oil l " Jun. und 15th Jan. could not develop
varietal red colour and TSS. The flowering and fruiting needs to be standardized for mrlg b ahar and time
of boron application for getting quality fruits with minimum cracking.
