The present investigation was carried out to study the effect of land configurations and corm densities on saffron vegetative, floral and yield attributes. The results indicated that land configurations and corm densities improved saffron vegetative, floral attributes and increased yield significantly. Total saffron yield was obtained significantly high 17.25 kg ha-1 in raised bed among land configurations and 15.75 kg ha-1 in 15 lakh corms ha-1 density amongst corm densities. Among interaction effect, raised bed with 15 lakh corms ha-1 density resulted in significantly high total saffron yield of 19.08 kg ha-1 which was at par with raised bed with 10 lakh corms ha-1 density (18.76 kg ha-1). Saffron corm yield was found highest (24.57 t ha-1) in raised beds as against minimum (7.16 t ha-1) in ridge & furrow methods in land configurations and among corm densities, highest corm yield was recorded (18.17 t ha- 1) in 15 corm ha-1 density as compared to lowest (9.37 t ha-1) in 5 lakh corms ha-1 density. Raised beds with 5 lakh ha-1 corm density was resulted in highest propagation coefficient (305.00%), highest benefit cost ratio (3.67) and suggested for rainfed condition of Kashmir.
