Standard germination test is a viability test used to determine the suitability of a seed lot for planting. These results are used for labelling seeds for sale and are printed on the seed tag to inform the buyer of the physiological quality of the seed lot. Seed testing protocols were developed to determine the maximum germination potential of a given seed lot, which is used to compare the quality of different seed lots; and to estimate the field planting value. Results suggest that use of between paper method (BP) at 25°C or alternate temperature of 20°~30°C with the first count on 12th day and final count on 17th day is the best suitable protocol for seed germination testing in moringa.
