cassava requires use of fertilizers due to its high yield. To replenish the drawn nutrients from soil, application of nutrients is inevitable. Nutrient use efficient genotypes can help in mobilising the nutrients from the soil itself due to its effective root system which in turn increase the soil availability of nutrients for plant uptake. Hence, this can cause reduction in the use of nutrients through external fertilizer sources. In cassava, K, N and NPK use efficient genotypes were identified and the first K efficient variet by name ' Sree Pavithra' was released in 2015 which requires 50% of the recommended dose of K. Later identified as NPK efficient requiring 25% of the recommended dose of NPK Not Available |
