Description Not Available
Cassava due to its high biological yield requires application of fertilizers and manures through external sources to replenish the depleted fertility of the soil due to high plant uptake of nutrients. By using NUE genotypes, the external use of fertilizers can be reduced as they can mobilize the fixed soil nutrients in the plant absorbable form due to the peculiar rot system. In cassava we have identified K, N and NPK efficient genotypes which require lesser amounts of these nutrients than recommended . Sree Pavithra was released as the first K efficient variety in 2015 and later identified as NPK efficient requiring 25% of the recommended NPK
