The initial /preliminary soil analysis of a typical red loam soil located at Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala was undertaken to arrive at the fertilizer requirements for the efficient use of fertilizers. The soil was found acidic with bulk density of 1.22 g cm-3 and water holding capacity of 37.43%. Organic carbon was medium, available N and was very low, Available P and Na were medium, available Ca and Mg were low, Micronutrients viz., Fe, Cu, Zn, B were high, Mn was medium and extractable acidity was very high Not Available |
