Research and development are the two facets of a coin, the value of which resides for long if the product/result is ecologically sustainable, socially acceptable, technically feasible and economically viable. Despite recent achievements in the field of science and technology, many issues still pinch when we look at the life of a common man in rural areas, especially in the tribal states of the world. the downtrodden masses need food security, healthy living and basic requirements of clothing and shelter on priority basis. According to United Nations, human development should be measured by life expectancy, adult literacy, access to all three levels of education, as well as people's average income, which is a necessary condition of their freedom of choice; thus incorporating all aspects of individuals' well-being, from their health status to their economic and political freedom Not Available |
