| Abstract/Description: | In agriculture, energy usage and mechanization technologies plays a key role in improving agricultural production in developing countries, and should be considered as an essential input to agriculture. However, the mechanization and energy use level in dryland regions varies very widely i.e. at about 1.37kW/ha in Indian rainfed systems to 0.5Kw/ha in sub Saharan African region; even though 90% of the total power to farm is contributed by mechanical equipment and electrical power sources in developed countries |
