Abstract/Description: | 116r rABSTRACTA field experiment to evaluate the effect of synthetic jasmonates and salicylates on parasitisation of rice brownplanthopper (BPH)by egg parasitoid, Anagrus sp. was conducted during October - December, 2015. Jasmonicacid (JA), Methyl jasmonate (MeJ), Salicylic acid (SA) and Methyl salicylate (MeS) at three differentconcentrations (1, 10 and 100 mM) were tested for their effect on rice BPH population and their ability toattract egg parasitiod. Significantly, higher % parasitism and thereby less BPH population was noticed onplants treated with Jasmonates and salicylates than buffer and control. Even though all the evaluated treatmentsattracted parasitoids, Jasmonic acid @10 mM recorded the maximum mean parasitism of 34.69 % againstcontrol with 10.69 % only.
