Abstract/Description: | A field experiment was conducted on French bean with eight treatments in a randomized block design during the four years starting from 2005 to 2008 at the research farm of CSKHPKV, Palampur to assess the impact of different management practices on symbiotic parameters yield, and quality of French bean and soil properties. Organic and integrated nutrient management practices increased symbiotic parameters, green pod yield each year whereas yield decreased under chemical treatment. Both the strains of Rhizobium phaseoli found equally good under organic and integrated management practices. Soil chemical, physical and biological properties were found to be better under organic management practices than integrated nutrient management practices and chemical management practices. Soil chemical, physical and biological parameter decreased from its initial status under absolute control. |
