Abstract/Description: | Total 92 accessions comprising 38 accessions received from S. K. Nagar (RG-3932 to RG-3970) and 21 from Junagadh (RG-4004 to RG-4024) centres and 30 new accessions collected from Chindwara (RG-3971 to RG-4000) and three Maharashtra (RG-4001 to RG-4003) and five checks viz., 48-1, Sowbhagya, GCH-7, DCS-107, and DCH-519 were planted in an augmented block design on 20 August 2015 at IIOR, Hyderabad. One pre-sowing and one post-sowing irrigations were given to the experiment in order to protect from severe drought conditions prevailed during crop season. Checks were repeated after every 20 accessions. Twenty one accessions were found promising for various traits (Table 1.1.1). The highest 100-seed weight was observed in RG-3990 (58 g) while it was 32 g in the best check, GCH-7. Ten accessions recorded very high seed yield/ net plot ranging from 421 to 669 g while the seed yield recorded in the best check, GCH-7 was 195 g. |
