| Abstract/Description: | India is becoming more vulnerable to climate change as major proportion of population depends on agriculture and allied sectors. Depending on the magnitude and distribution of warming, climate change projections for the mid-term (2012-2039) period for India indicated a 4.5 to 9% yield reductions which may roughly amounts to 1.5% of GDP per year. Realizing the impact of climate change, the Government of India has prioritized the climate change research and a major project “National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA)” has been initiated in 2010-2011 |
