| Abstract/Description: | Weather continues to play a dominant role in agricultural production despite many technological advances made. This is particularly clear this year as unseasonal, erratic and often flash floods has lashed many parts of the country. SW monsoon season of 2015 witnessed mid-season droughts on some parts of the country, while parts of West Bengal, Rajasthan and Gujarat faced flood. Agrometeorological research and extension services assumes great significance in this era of climate change and ever-increasing extreme weather events. |
