Abstract

Under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Shri. Hukmdeo Narayan Yadav, 15 members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture visited ICAR-CRIDA to study about the activities of the Institute, especially with reference to climate change research. Director, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao received the delegation and the team visited Plant Phenomics Facility after which the Director explained to them about the real-time weather monitoring facility under NICRA-AWS network. The delegation also visited the Dryland Gallery where the research, development and extension activities of CRIDA were explained. Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao Director, CRIDA made a presentation on “Comprehensive Agriculture Research Based on Geographical Conditions and Impact of Climate Change to Ensure Food Security in the Country” to the committee members. Hon’ble Chairman in his remarks appreciated the contributions made by CRIDA and congratulated the scientists and other staff for their efforts. Other members also appreciated the scientific contributions of CRIDA, Director and scientists and also for making excellent arrangements for the entire study visit during 14-17th January 2016 as Liaison Institute.
