Abstract

Estimation of crop water requirement in vijayapura district of Karnataka showed increase in irrigation requirement of rabi crops whereas the irrigation requirement of kharif crops showed only a slight increase.Research on conservation agriculture is moving towards the development of efficient and particable package of conservation agriculture practices.Investigations showed that health and productivity of livestock can be improved by adopting low cost housing system,health calendar,mineral supplementation,use of sprouted fodder and use of Co-4 Hybrid Napier silage that was prepared using a low cost silage bag technique .A rotary machine to palletize powder biochar was developed and the pelletization rotary machine to pelletize powder biochar was developed and the pelletization and the process was optimized with locally available blinder materials.Decision support system support for spatial monitoring and evauation of watershed projects in india.Jal-DSS,was developed using Open sorce GIS and launched .Jal-DSS can be used byb all stakeholders freely.The district database of agricultural statistics is being continuously updated with latest data.Carbon dioxide and temperature gradient chamber(CTGC) facility for measuring the impacts of elevated carbon dioxide and temperature was commissioned .ICAR-CRIDA developed agricultural contingency plans for 623 districts and held interface meetings with departments of agriculture.KVKs,SAUs,seed agencies and other stakeholders of 12 states during May-June 2016 for enhancing the contingency preparedness.
