| Abstract/Description: | Dr. B. Venkateswarlu appointed New Director of CRIDA Dr. B. Venkateswarlu, Principal Scientist & Head of Crop Sciences Division of CRIDA has joined as Director, CRIDA on July 7, 2008. Dr. Venkateswarlu has served over 30 years in different capacities in ICAR and has contributed significantly to research and technology development in rainfed farming. He started his research career at ICRISAT in 1976, joined Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of ICAR in 1977 at CAZRI and moved to CRIDA in 1986. Recently, he has coordinated the National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP) and was involved in the development of Sustainable Rural Livelihoods Project under NAIP. He has published over 100 research papers, authored 8 books, filed one patent, received two awards and widely travelled within and outside the country.
