| Abstract/Description: | Participatory implementation cf watershed development programme through institutional set up was the main paradigm of watershed programmes implemented by Govt. of India,.Ministry of Rural Development. It was undertaken to evaluate the extent of stakeholder participation in all watersheds implemented by both Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of Agriculture. Responses collected through a schedule from respondents of village institutions were analyzed. It was observed that overall participation in planning phase was 'participation by consultation'and other phases had 'manipuiativc participation' as predominant form of people's participation. It is to be concluded that sensitizing the local institutions regarding the objectives of watershed programme is necessary for ensuring better people's participation. |
