| Abstract/Description: | Performance of Deccani lambs grazing on silvopastoral system with or without protein supplementation was studied for 75 days. Differences in weight gain of lambs between the two groups were not significant for the first 6 weeks of grazing trial but weight gain became significantly (P<0.01 ) higher for the lambs from the supplemented group during lean season. The overall weight gain and ADG were significantly (P<0.01) higher in supplemented lambs. Further, digestibility cum metabolic trial at the end of the experiment confirms that the lambs with protein supplementation had higher DM intake, and apparent digestibility of DM, OM, CP, NDF and ADF. |
