| Description: | Agricultural planners and scientists are looking to the potentials of biotechnology to address the problems that currently exist and are anticipated in Cotton. Improvements in pest control strategies are the most obvious area for attention. Many companies have made progress on herbicide resistance and insect resistance impated via the Bt toxin. The other areas of interest are also receiving attention includes biological control of pest, fibre quality modification and stress tolerance. Cotton seed protein and oil quality is a potential area for improvement. |
