| Abstract/Description: | THE RELATIVE EFFICIENCY (5) OF VARIOUS LATIN SQUARE DESIGNS( LSDs) WAS WORKED OUT AND COMPARED WITH COMPARED RANDOMIZED DESIGNS ( CRDs) AND RCBD FOR VARIOUS SIZES AND SHAPES OF PLOTS WITH HEIGHT AND DIAMETER AT BREAST HEIGHT (DBH) OF EUCALYPTUS IN SHIWALIK HILLS. THE NUMBER OF UNITS IN CRD AND RCBD WHEN ROWS TREATED AS BLOCKS ( IGNORING COLUMS) ANS COLUMNS TREATED AS BLOCKS WERE COMPUTED. THE NUMBER OF UNITS IN CRD AND RCBD TAKING ROWS AS BLOCKS OR COLUMNS AS BLOCKS FOR OBTAINING THE RELATIVE EFFICIENCY EQUIVALENT TO THAT OF 3X3 TO 6X6 LSD WERE ALSO EVALUATED. IT WAS FOUND THAT LSD WAS MORE EFFICIENT THAN CRD AND RCBD FOR EXPERIMENTATION , TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE GROWTH PARAMETERS OF HEIGHT AND DBH OF EUCALYPTUS TREES. |
