| Abstract/Description: | THE BULLETIN DEALS WITH DEVELOPING RAINFALL INTENSITY- DURATION RETURN PERIOD EQUATION AND NOMOGRAPHS FOR 42 STATIONS LOCATED IN FIVE RAINFALL ZONES IN INDIA.THE ZONAL EQUATIONS AND NOMOGRAPHS FOR THESE ZONES HAVE ALSO BEEN DEVELOPED. SUCH EQUATIONS AND NOMOGRAPHS ARE REQUIRED FOR DESIGN OF SOIL CONSERVATION AND RUNOFF DISPOSAL STRUCTURES AND FOE PLANNING FLOOD CONTROL PROJECTS. THE AUTHORS SUGGEST THAT CONSIDERING THE SIMPLICITY IN USE , QUICKNESS AND PRECISION IN RESULTS, THE NOMOGRAPHS ARE THE MOST HANDY TOOL FOR FIELD WORKERS. |
