| Abstract/Description: | RELATIVE EFFCIENCY OF 3X3, 4X4 ,5X5 AND 6X6 LATIN SQUARE DESIGNS ( LSDs ) WERE COMPUTED AND COMPARED WITH CRDs AND RCBDs FOR VARIOUS SIZES AND SHAPES OF PLOTS ON NATURAL GRASSLANDS OF OUTER HIMALAYAS HAVING 50-100% AND MORE THAN 100% SLOPES. THE NUMBER OF UNITS REQUIRED IN CRD AND RCBD TAKING ROWS AS BLOCKS OR COLUMNS AS BLOCKS FOR OBTAINING THE RELATIVE EFFICIENCY (RE) EQUIVALENT TO THAT OF 3X3 TO 6X6 LSD WERE ALSO EVALUATED AND IT AWS FOUND THAT LSD WAS MORE EFFICIENT THAN CRD AND RCBD FOR EXPERIMENTATION ON SUCH LANDS. |
