| Abstract/Description: | ANALYSIS OF RAINFALL DATA OF DATIA( BUNDELKHAND ) REGION IN MADHYA PRADESH FROM 1968 TO 1986 REVEALED THAT THE AVERAGE RAINFALL I 861mm SPREAD OVER 37.5 RAINY DAYS ( RAINFALL> 2.5mm) . 90% OF RAINFALL IS RECEIVED IN THE MONSOON PERIOD ( JUNE TO SEPTEMBER) WITH AVERAGE RAINFALL F 68, 292, 294 AND 115 mm FOR JUNE , JULY , AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER, RESPECTIVELY. YEARLY , MONTHLY AND WEEKLY RAINFALL VARIABILITY INDICATED THAT WEEKLY RAINFALL OF 20 mm IS EXPECTED FROM 27th TO 33 rd STANDARD METEOROLOGICAL WEEKS( 2nd JULY TO 19th AUGUST) AT 70% CHANCE BARRING THE WEEKLY RAINFALL GREATER THAN 10 mm IS AVAILABLE FROM 27th WEEK. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT MATURITY PERIOD OF 12 TO 14 WEEKS CAN GIVE OPTIMUM YIELDS. |
