| Abstract/Description: | AN EXPERIMENT WAS CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT DOSE OF NITROGEN AND BEST TIME OF ITS APPLICATION FOR HYBRID MAIZE ( ZEA MAYS L) . UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS IN DOON VALLEY , SHOWED THAT THE GRAIN YIELDS WITH 200 kg/N/ha (5047 kg/ha ) AND 150 kg N/ha (4570 kg/ha ) WERE STATISTICALLY AT PAR AND SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN OTHER LEVELS OF NITROGEN. THREE SPLIT DOSES (1/3 AT SOWING + 1/3 AT KNEE HIGH +1/3 AT TASELLING) REGISTERED SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER YIELDS. |
