Abstract/Description: | Present study was conducted in Udham Singh Nagar of Uttaranchal state. One thousand rural women comprising 500 non-pregnant, non-lactating rural women each from two age groups were selected. Anthropometric kit and celebrating weighing scale were used to collect data. Body surface area was calculated with the help of dubious scale. Measurements in standing, sitting, squatting position along with six miscellaneous measurements were taken. All together 35 measurements were noted down. The mean weight for the 1st age group i.e. for 20-30 yrs of women was 46.82 kg and for the second age group (30-40 yrs) was 48.99. Mean standing height of Uttatranchal women was 15197 cm. Eye level height, shoulder height, elbow height were 140.21, 126.26, 95.71 cm respectively. There was no significant difference between the meassurements of two age groups. Mean height in squatting position was found to be 117.5 cm, elbow height was noted as 62.10 cm. Squatting eye level height, elbow height, squatting feet width, significant difference between 2 age groups. Normal and maximum reach in vertical plane were found to be 142.69 cm and 178.26 cm respectively. Normal and maximum reach in horizontal plane were 33.87 and 48.24 with no significant difference two age groups. |
