Abstract/Description: | Five combinations of Moth and Khejri were processed according common recommended forage for camel in Bikaner (Mix-1, Mix-2, Mix-3, Mix-4 and Mix-5) at 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30% on DM bases, respectively. The combination was tested by using In vitro gas production technique. The content of NDF and ADF for Khejri was higher than that in Moth, but others of components for mixing between them were closed. The maximum gas volume was highest for Moth straw (P < 0.05) than for Khejri after 24h. The gas volumes at all times of incubation decreased with increasing proportions of Khejri in the mixtures. The kinetics of ruminal degradation of the DM, OM and NDF for Khejri leaves lowered (P<0.05) significantly compared to Moth, Mix-1, Mix-2, Mix-3 and Mix-4, respectively. Higher tannins content in Khejri lower DM, OM and NDF disappearance of Khejri compared to Moth. A mixture of both Moth and Khejri at (10:90 and 15:85%) was the favorable mix compared to another. The concentration of both SCFA’s and NH3-N/ total nitrogen were higher (P<0.05) significantly with incubation Moth or Mix-10 compared with Khejri alone or Mix-30. The values of TN and NH3-N were slightly higher with incubation Mix-10 or Mix-15 compared with Moth or Khejri. While values of TN and NH3-N were higher with Moth and Mix-10 Mix-15 Mix-20 Mix-25 compared to Khejri. There was no significant (P > 0.05) effect among different combination of Moth and Khejri on MP and ME, while calculated MP was more affected at 1.85% CT. |
