| Abstract/Description: | UPLAND RICE WAS INTERCROPPED WITH PIGEONPEA , BLACKGRAM AND SESAME AT BARKACHHA ( MIRZAPUR) TO EVALUATE THE IMPACT OF INTERCROPPING, INTERCROPPING OF RICE WITH BLACKGRAM IN 2:1 ROWS PROVIDED MEAN GRAIN YIELD OF 1795 kg/ha AND 393 kg/ha BLACKGRAM AS AGAINST SOLE RICE YIELD OF 1861kg/ha . INTERCROPPING OF RICE WITH BLACKGRAM IN 1;1 ROWS ALSO PROVED SUPERIOR TO SOLE RICE. INTERCROPPING RICE WITH PIGEON PEA OR SESAME WAS NOT FOUND PROFITABLE. RICE INTERCROPPING WITH BLACKGRAM AS WELL AS WITH PIGEON PEA RECORDED HIGHER AVAILABLE N IN THE SOIL THAN SOLE RICE. |
