| Abstract/Description: | AN ICAR- UNDP WORKSHOP WAS ORGANISED ON 4th AND 5th MARCH , 1994 ON TRADITIONAL AGROFORESTRY SYSTEMS AND INNOVATIONS UNDER AUSPICIOUS OF ADVANCE CENTRE ON AGROFORESTRY AT CSWCRTI , DEHRADUN. THE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WORKSHOP HAVE BEEN COMPILED IN THIS PUBLICATION FOR BROAD AGROCLIMATIC REGIONS OF INDIA. ALLEY FARMING VEGETATIVE BARRIERS AND HEDGE ROWS OF LEUCAENA HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTED FOR SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION ON AGRICULTURAL LANDS IN PLACE OF EXPENSIVE MECHANICAL MEASURES . THE RICH EXPERIENCES OF FARMERS AND RECOMMENDATIONS EMERGING FROM RECENT RESEARCHES HAVE BEEN PRESENTED. |
