| Abstract/Description: | THE PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF A SURVEY CONDUCTED IN 1990 T DATIA IN BUNDELKHAND REGION. THE EXISTING AFS IN THE REGION WERE FOUND TO HAVE 2 TREES PER 100 RUNNING m MOSTLY ON FIELD BUNDS. THE PROMINENT TREE SPECIES OF THE AREA ARE ZIZYPHUS , ACACIA NILOTICA A. LEUCOPHLOEA, BUTEA MONOSPERMA AND AZADIRACHTA INDICA . ZIZYPHUS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS THE MOST IMPORTANT MULTIPURPOSE TREE OF THE AREA. TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED TO IMPROVE THE EXISTING STOCK OF ZIZYPHUS FOR HIGH QUALITY AND RETURNS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. |
