| Abstract/Description: | AN ATTEMPT HAS BEEN MADE TO EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITY OF GROWING QUERCUS LEUCOTRICHOPHORA (BAN OAK) , COMMONLY FOUND AT HIGHER ALTITUDES OF NORTH- WEST HIMALAYAN REGION IN THE LOWER ALTITUDES I.E IN THE DEGRADED LANDS OF DOON VALLEY. ON THE BASIS OF SURVIVAL , HEIGHT COLLAR DIAMETER AT BREAST HEIGHT PERFORMANCE FROM 1986-1994 , IT IS INDICATED THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO GROW IT ON DEGRADED LANDS OF DOON VALLEY. THE REGRESSION EQUATIONS BETWEEN PLANT AGE WITH INDIVIDUAL GROWTH CHARACTERS I.E HEIGHT OR COLLAR DIAMETER OR DIAMETERS AT BREAST HEIGHT , HAVE ALSO BEEN PRESENTED. |
