Abstract/Description: | The path set down for Indian Agriculture in the direction of food security was defined in the 1960s. Emphasis was given to provide more calories per person with the help of technologies like HYV of crops, agro-chemicals ranging from high analysis fertilizers to pesticides to synthetic plant hormones and farm machines. This production paradigm, however resulted in exhaustion with respect to the reserve as well as supplying capability of the soil for micronutrients to meet out crop requirement. |
