| Abstract/Description: | IN A 3 - YEAR STUDY (1978-79 TO 1980-1981) ON SANDY LOAM SOIL, THE EFFECT OF IRRIGATION ON YIELD AND WATER USE EFFICIENCY ( WUE) OF MUSTARD WERE COMPARED. TWO IRRIGATIONS ( PRE SOWING+ FLOWERING STAGE) GAVE 63 , 210 AND 43% AD ONE IRRIGATION GAVE 9,101 AND 18% HIGHER YIELD, AS COMPARED TO NO IRRIGATION IN 1978-1979, 1979-1980 AND 1980- 1981 , RESPECTIVELY. THE HIGHEST MEAN WATER USE EFFICIENCY OF 32.1 kg/cm/ha WAS OBTAINED WITH PRE- SOWING IRRIGATION. |
