| Abstract/Description: | FOUR SEED DRILLS WERE TESTED FOR SOWING OF WHEAT UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS. THE SEEDLINGS EMERGENCE AND YIELDS OBTAINED WITH THE USE OF DRILLS WAS COMPARED WITH SOWING BEHIND LOCAL PLOUGH. SIGNIFICANT INCREASE OF 28% IN THE YIELD WAS OBTAINED BY SOWING WITH NOBLE DRILL ( 29.6 q/ha) AS COMPARED TO SOWING BEHIND COUNTRY PLOUGH ( 23 q/ha) OVER A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS. |
