| Abstract/Description: | N PRE- PLANTING INCORPORATED , PRE- EMERGENCE AND POST- EMERGENCE APPLICATION OF HERBICIDES WERE COMPARED AS TO THEIR EFFECTIVENESS IN CONTROLLING WEEDS IN MAIZE ( ZEA MAYS L) UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS AT DEHARDUN. FROM THE STANDPOINT OF WEED CONTROL , THE PRE- PLANTING INCORPORATED TREATMENTS WERE FOUND MORE EFFECTIVE . FROM THE STANDPOINT OF CROP YIELD, PRE - PLANTING INCORPORATED TREATMENTS WERE GENERALLY EQUAL TO PRE- EMERGENCE TREATMENTS AND SOME WHAT SUPERIOR TO POST- EMERGENCE TREATMENTS. |
