| Abstract/Description: | THE ARTICLE PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF SUCCESSFUL TRIALS ON FRUIT TREE PLANTATIONS CONDUCTED IN THE BOULDERY DEGRADED LANDS OF DOON VALLEY. THE FRUIT CROPS INCLUDED ARE CITRUS SPECIES LIKE LEMON, SWEET ORANGE, PUMMELO, MANDARIN, SWEET LIME AND OTHER FRUIT CROPS INCLUDING PLUM, GUAVA , PHALSA AND POMEGRANATE. VARIOUS ASPECTS OF RAISING OF THESE FRUIT CROPS IN SUCH LANDS VIZ PLANTING METHODS, MOISTURE CONSERVATION TECHNIQUES, YIELDS AND QUALITY OF FRUITS , ECONOMIC GAINS ETC HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED. |
