| Abstract/Description: | EFFECT OF CLOSURE TO BIOTIC INTERFERENCE ON SEMI- ARID ALLUVIAL WASTE RAVINE LANDS OF CENTRAL GUJARAT WAS STUDIED IN TYPICAL RAVINE COMPRISING SMALL HUMPS, GULLY SLOPES AND GULLY BOTTOMS FOR NINETEEN YEARS (1960-77) . THE STUDY REVEALED THAT THE WASTE RAVINE LANDS ARE UNDERGOING SLOW SUCCESSIONAL CHANGE AND CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS "SERAL TYPE" OF FORESTS COMPRISING OF SPECIES LIKE AZADIRACHTA INDICA, HOLOPELIA INTEGRIFOLIA, PROSOPIS CINERARIA, ACACIA NILOTICA, A SENEGAL, CAPPARIS SPS, CASSIA AURICULATA, CROTALARIA SPP, DESMOSTACHYA BIPINNATA, APLUDA MUTICA, ARISTIDA ROYLEANA, HETEROPOGON CONTORTUS. |
