| Abstract/Description: | ELEVEN EUCALYPTUS SPECIES WERE EVALUATED AT DEHRADUN. DURING THE PERIOD OF STUDY (1968 TO 1979) , THE MEAN ANNUAL RAINFALL WAS 1539mm . IN SURVIVAL RANGE OF 80 TO 90% EUCALYPTUS TORTULINA (4 YEARS AGE) HAS SHOWN MAXIMUM GROWTH IN HEIGHT (549 cm) AND DBH (6.47cm) FOLLOWED BY E. HYBRID (ALSO 4 YEARS OLD) ( HEIGHT 509 cm and DBH 3.91 cm) . EUCALYPTUS CAMALDULENSIS ( 10 YEARS) HAS SHOWN 631 cm HEIGHT AND 7.89 cM DBH . IN SURVIVAL RANGE OF 50 TO 60% E. ROSTRATA (10 YEARS) SHOWED 705cm HEIGHT AND 4.70 cm DBH. E LEUCOXYLON , E RADIATA, E RUDIS AND E DUMOSA HAVE SHOWN LESS THAN 20% SURVIVAL. OUT OF THREE PIT SIZES TRIED (30cm3 , 45 cm3 and 45 x 45 x 60CM) 90% SURVIVAL WAS RECORDED IN 45 X 45 X 60 cm PITS. |
