| Abstract/Description: | SEVENTEEN SPECIES OF TROPICAL PINES WERE TRIED IN 1974 AT THE RESEARCH FARM, SELAKUI (DEHRADUN) . PINUS PATULA ( SOUTH AFRICA AND R- 65 -B) SHOWED 80% AND 77% SURVIVAL. THESE SPECIES HAVE ATTAINED GROWTH IN HEIGHT (560 CM AND 540CM) AND DBH (7.86 CM AND 8.60CM) RESPECTIVELY. NONE OF THE PINUS CARIBEA SHOWED MORE THAN 36% SURVIVAL. PINUS MARKUSII (1043 AND 1053 ) AND P GREGII DID NOT SURVIVE AFTER 2 AND 4 YEARS , RESPECTIVELY. |
