| Abstract/Description: | THE STUDIES CARRIED OUT AT CSWCRTI, DEHRADUN AND ITS REGIONAL CENTRES HAVE IDENTIFIED E. HYBRID , E CAMALDULENSIS , E . TERETICORNIS , E GRANDIS, E. CITRIODORA AND E GLOBULUS AS THE PROMISING SPECIES UNDER DIFFERENT AGRO- CLIMATIC ZONES. THE PRODUCTION OF WOOD UNDER ROTATION OF UPTO 5 YEARS AND 10 YEARS HAS BEEN REPORTED. E . GLOBULUS OVER 10 YEARS , HAS SHOWN MEAN ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF 6.26 t/ha AT OOTACAMUND AND JUST 2.26 t/ha OF E. HYBRID AT BELLARY. IN SHORTER ROTATIONS , MEAN ANNUAL PRODUCTION IS 11-13 t/ha AT DEHRADUN AND 10.06 t/ha AT AGRA. THESE HAVE BEEN COMPARED WITH PEARSON CVP VALUES. THE BENEFIT - COST RATIO OF THE PLANTATION VARIES BETWEEN 1.6 AT DEHRADUN TO 4.0 AT OOTACAMUND. |
